Keeping Busy Witn Adventures

It has been a few months since I blogged about what Joel and I have been up to on our wild and crazy adventures. It has been a busy time these last few months in the life of the little Green family. We have loved what God has really done for us. We are truly blessed by God.
2nd at Rock Port, MO
Super Pee Wee State
Wrestling season finally came to an end. Joel has a very outstanding year of wrestling. He was pushed to the max for sure. For an 8 year old and being a 2nd grader I was very proud of him. He never placed 1st at any tournaments, but he got many 2nd places, two 3rd places, and 0 4th places. He wrestled for Winterset's Top Dawg group. Meaning he travelled with the team to some dual meets. He had to wrestle boys from 2-6th grade. He won a few and lost a few. He didn't give up, kept his head held high, and he wanted more. Joel season came to an end in March at the Iowa Super Pee Wee State tournament. He did not place in the TOP 8, but he was a winner in my book for just going, and doing his best. He was sad that the season finally came to an end. He has a fun off season tournament coming up the first weekend in June.
The first part of March Joel had his 2nd grade spring concert. I will say it was better than last years concert. Wished they would of had a better song selection. As my son said, "I hate preschool songs." He wishes it would of been more challenging. For only getting 1 concert a year I would expect more as well, but it was fun to watch the children sing and dance this year. I really wish that his school did a winter concert. With being such a big school, and only so much space for seating I know why they do by grade.
Joel's Pinewood Derby Car
After the concert we then had Pinewood Derby for Cub Scouts. This year has been different with Cub Scouts. I have taken on a leadership role for Joel's den. It has been exciting for sure. So, this year I didnt sit in the stands to watch the Pinewood Derby. I got to be closer and next to Joel as his car came down the track. His car was faster than last year, but it didn't advanced. Atleast he tried. That is what counted the most. He did walk away with Shinest Paint Job. I thought he should of got most unique, but heck we will take it.
With March also brought SPRING BREAK for Joel. Which this meant Spring Vacation. Which this means time to be with family in Arkansas. We love spending time with them. Spring is so much fun down there. Joel and I really enjoyed our time this year for our spring vacation. We stayed pretty busy, had fun doing different things, and most of all we got to spend Easter with our family down there. It had been since Joel was little over one that we had celebrated Easter with our family that lives down there. It is hard being away from them at holidays. So, Easter was really memoriable for us.
While we were down there this year Joel and his Papa Rick worked on projects together. Joel wanted to learn how to make things. So, quality MAN time it was. Joel and his Papa made a bird house and a bird feeder together. Joel was so thrilled that he got to use a electric sander. He felt like a man he said. The two worked for days on the project. The finish products are actually in my front yard under our livingroom window. I am so proud of what he accomplished with his Papa. The next project of the two was coloring Easter Eggs together. It was so fun watching those two. They had fun for sure. I am so glad that they had fun, and time bonding doing things that they love.
Joel, our grandparents, and myself went to Hot Springs for Grandpa's appointment while we were there. We decided to take Joel somewhere fun, but at the sametime learning. We decided to go to the Science Center. It was really cool. All four of us had so much fun. It is for all ages for sure. We spent close to 3 hours there. We didn't even do everything there. It was fun watching Joel and our grandparents interact and have fun learning about science. Joel learned about caves, beatles, mountain formations, knetic energy, and so much more. The also had an area outside that was enjoyable. They had walk area. They had an skywalk area that had a rope bridge, and rope bowl to play for the kids. I was so nervous with it being so high off the ground. It was something we will always cherish, and never forget for sure.
