Sept. 2011 Fun

  September 2011 was an eventful month for Joel and I. I found out early in the month that I would be one of the Iowa Heart Ambassadors for 2012 along with two others. My dad/ Joel's grandpa and our grandma came up for a few days. We even enjoyed listening to the Cy/Hawk game on the radios. For those who do not know what the Cy/Hawk game is: It is a very important football game in Iowa evry Year. It is when Iowa Hawkeyes and Iowa State Cyclones play one another.
  One of the days in September with went with some friends to the Iowa Capital building in DesMoines to tour, and plus I had a photo shoot for the American Heart Association with the other heart ambassadors. Joel was very good. I think he enjoyed it just as much as the rest of us. It was nice to see how much it had changed since I went there when I was in school. It is so funny that Gov. Branstand is gov both times that I have been there. I love history in some ways. I don't remember going into the library the last time that I was there, but we went into it this time. WOW! Joel was amazed at all the books, but he loves book.

  Also that same day our friends and us went to Spagetti Works to eat. It still has great food, but the manager is something else. I wont go into that long story. But man the food still makes my mouth water thinking of it. We also decided to let Joel run some steam off since he had been so good. We went to Union Park (another place I hadn't been since I was little). It had changed but it still has the awesome slide that it is so well known for. It was so awesome to watch Joel enjoy and play there, because I was able to share with him a little bit more of my past with him that when I was little I played there a time or too.
  In September they had a family circus event out at the Madison County Fair Grounds in Winterset. I decided to take Joel to the first show, because we had church that night. Really truthfully it was a waste of time and of money (even though Joel got in free), but Joel enjoyed it a little. He enjoyed some of the parts. I thought that they needed to do it in a different area since it was nice out. Each act didn't do so hot, but like I said it was fun for Joel, and that is what counted.
